GREECE & CROATIA Warm water paddling and traveling at it's best!
Warm water, colorful villages, castles built by the crusaders, history around every corner, fresh sea food and fun paddling
..sounds pretty nice, eh? Lena Conlan from Crossing Latitudes will be showing slides from sea kayaking trips around the Dodecanese Islands in Greece and the Dalmatian Coastline outside Dubrovnik in Croatia.
Kayaking in Greece means paddling among rock gardens, in wicked windy seas, big waves, surf and in dead calm blue water. Greece is a fantastic place to gain confidence as a paddler, the water is clear and warm, the villages cozy and the people are friendly.
Dubrovnik, Lopud, Sipan, Miljet names along the Dalmatian Coastline. What an amazing area! The clear blue Adriatic Sea and the lush mountains covered with wild flowers created a unique environment. Paddling and trekking in Croatia was a treat. Join Lena for personal stories and photos from a place she really hopes to return to. Kalos Orisate! Dobrodo
Li! Welcome!
REINDEER TREKKING IN ARCTIC SCANDINAVIA
For centuries the nomadic Saami people of Arctic Scandinavia have been traveling across the mountains and tundra, using domestic reindeer to carry their equipment. Reindeer packing was a lost art, recently brought back to life by Saami groups in northern Sweden. Crossing Latitudes has joined the Saami on their path of rediscovering this traditional way of traveling. Lena Conlan will show slides from reindeer trekking in and around the great National Parks of Sweden.
Every spring the reindeer herds migrate from the woodlands to the mountains. Lena will also show slides from the spring migration. Being this close to the reindeer provides a unique insight into the relation between the Saami, the reindeer and nature. Come and learn about the history of the Saami and their reindeer. Bures boahtin Sapmii! Welcome!
